It is very important to help those in need. When my sister and I were very young, my mother often said, “Always help those who need you the most.” In light of the current pandemic, systemic oppression, and poverty, many in our communities feel there is no path to prosperity; but, only a path to harm. Many feel there is no hope and no path to a promising future. However, Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that God is our hope. God has plans to meet the needs of His people regardless of skin color or ethnicity.
Many are in dire need of God’s tender loving care from one to another. Proverbs 19:17 says, “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.” (NIV) We, the Body of Christ, are the heart, hands, and feet of Jesus.
